Early Access covers two procedurally generated regions: Veil of Silence (5 floors, boss Giant Stone Golem, merchant Aric) and Festering Burrow (5 floors, boss Chain Knight Sentinel, merchant Cedric). The standard run deploys from an Expedition Tent, uses up to 4 members (raised to 6 at Rank 2 and 8 at Rank 3 in v0.4.23), and runs in real-time-with-pause combat with permadeath. Each floor has a 0–5 depletion value — reaching 0 applies -50% to the region for ~15 days, so rotate floors.

More context

There is no 'Temple' dungeon region in the current build. 'Temple' appears only as a settlement-building room type that provides a Pray Needs Resource Modifier of -10% to -40% based on quality tier. The full release envisions six regions total. Early Access launched September 4, 2026 and is expected to last about 2 years.

Exploration mechanics and floor rotation

Floors and rooms are randomly composed and grid-based, re-rolling on each expedition. Deeper floors yield rarer resources (wood logs, herbs, gemstone veins, mysterious mandrake) alongside tougher threats such as towering golems and acid-spitting monsters — described as 'remnants of magical experiments.' Dungeon merchants appear in-region for trading — Aric in Veil of Silence, Cedric in Festering Burrow. Players can encounter an ancient tree that demands a blood sacrifice to bear 'forbidden fruit' — a higher-tier resource tied to settlement crafting. Permadeath applies — once a member dies there is no recovery. Plan rotations and never push past Floor 3 without a stabilized food surplus. Each floor has a 0–5 depletion value. A floor that reaches 0 applies a -50% drop penalty to the entire region, and the region takes about 15 in-game days to recover. Rotate dungeon floors — do not farm one repeatedly.

Floor 1 — Cautious first dip

  1. Goal

Establish the floor rotation habit and confirm the build chain works.

  2. Mechanics

Press Spacebar constantly to pause before dangerous enemy actions.

  3. Death AoE

Pull melee back from enemies with a flashing red health bar — most enemies deliver an AoE on death.

Floor 2 — Chokepoint pulling

  1. Goal

Push deeper once the surface loop is stable.

  2. Tactic

Shieldbearer pulls into a hallway chokepoint; Rangers kill backline casters first.

Floor 3 — Venomous Crawlers (Antidotes required)

  1. Mechanics

Venomous Crawlers apply a stacking poison debuff that persists after the expedition ends.

  2. Recovery

Expedition recovery time doubles while treating poison wounds.

  3. Required prep

Antidotes stockpiled before you set foot on Floor 3.

Floor 4 — Chance-spawn elites

  1. Veil of Silence

Alpha Acid Slogel can spawn on Floor 4.

  2. Festering Burrow

Elder Gloth can spawn on Floor 4. Summoning is capped at three uses as of v0.4.19.

  3. Re-run rule

If their Soul Stone or drops are needed, re-run the floor — absence does not mean the route is broken.

Floor 5 — Boss floor

  1. Veil of Silence

Giant Stone Golem (~18,000 HP on Hard) — Stone Stomp, Stone Throw (Pulsating Rock hatches into Yellow Stone Golem add in ~10s), Stone Raise, Earth Crash. Immune to Stun, knockback, Bleeding and Burning. Drops Stone, Lesser Mana Stones, Goddess's Tears and a first-kill Soul Stone.

  2. Festering Burrow

Chain Knight Sentinel (~34,000 HP) — Chain Grab, Ensnaring Chains, Phantom Chain, Sentinel Smite, Auto Repair (~180s cooldown), Soul Chain (below ~35% HP adds Fracture). Immune to Stun, knockback and Bleeding.

If a party wipes

Reassign survivors to food production; lock the dungeon entrance to block auto-deployments; dismantle non-essential military structures to recoup materials; wait 48 hours for the 'Desperate Survivors' event to replenish population; expect a -30 Morale penalty for 3 days after the event fires.

What comes after Floor 5

Defeating the Giant Stone Golem opens the Festering Burrow. Boss respawn after defeat takes about 3 hours. The full release envisions six regions total; Early Access covers two.
